Dr. Samuels completed her psychiatry residency training at New York University School of Medicine and went on to complete a fellowship in forensic psychiatry at Albert Einstein College of Medicine. She has extensive experience working with adults in outpatient, inpatient, and emergency settings. She also performs forensic evaluations and serves as an expert witness in both criminal and civil matters. Dr. Samuels also enjoys teaching residents and medical students.
She served as the Director of Adult Outpatient Psychiatric Services at Saint Louis University School of Medicine, where she was awarded the Outstanding Resident Educator award. She is currently a Clinical Assistant Professor of Psychiatry at NYU Grossman School of Medicine and is an attending psychiatrist at the Bellevue Hospital Comprehensive Psychiatric Emergency Program. In private practice, Dr. Samuels is particularly interested in the treatment of mood, anxiety, eating and psychotic disorders.
