Psychiatric Evaluations
If this is your child's first psychiatric evaluation or have been through the process many times before, you will quickly realize that this evaluation is more thorough and thoughtful than any you have experienced before. The evaluation will begin with meeting with the parent(s) or caregiver. While putting them at ease, Dr. Feingold will then meet with your child. Dr. Feingold will obtain collateral information and collaborate with your child's school, therapist and/or pediatrician. The evaluation culminates in a session with the parent(s) and child(depending on age) to discuss diagnostic impressions and treatment recommendations. You are welcome to come for consultations and 2nd opinions.

This encompasses attention, planning, organization, initiation, and self-monitoring), visual and auditory perception, language, memory, motor skills, social perception, and emotional functioning. The evaluation typically involves interviews with parents to gather the child's history, questionnaires for parents and teachers, direct interaction with the child, individual testing through paper-and-pencil tasks, hands-on activities, questions, and sometimes computer-based tasks, along with a questionnaire for parents to provide insights into their child's development and behavior.
