Alex Mustachi, PMHNP (He, Him, His)
Co-Founder, Mind Compass, Inc.Â
Â
Born and raised in Israel, Alex served as a captain in the Israeli Defense Force before immigrating to the U.S. He initially ran his own business as a locksmith before transitioning to a career in the medical field. His journey led him to work as a psychiatric technician at Metropolitan Hospital, where he provided crucial support in de-escalating agitated and violent patients in acute psychiatric crises in the emergency room and inpatient unit. He continues to contribute his expertise to the inpatient unit at St. Vincent's Hospital, offering acute care treatment.
As a board-certified psychiatric nurse practitioner (PMHNP), Alex brings a unique perspective to our practice. He graduated from NYU Nursing School and has dedicated almost six years to frontline medical care during the COVID-19 pandemic, working as a staff nurse in the medical/surgical infectious disease unit at New York Presbyterian. He pursued further education, earning his master's degree in mental health to become a nurse practitioner (NP). Currently, he provides care in an inpatient psychiatric unit at St. Vincent's Hospital in Harrison, NY, while also seeing patients privately.
Despite the challenges of career change, Alex has successfully balanced his professional life with his family commitments, including raising two young children and caring for his dog. Outside of work, he enjoys cooking, outdoor activities, and traveling with his wife and family.
Â
He is available to see patients virtually in all locations and in person in New York, Westchester and Connecticut. Â
