Mind Compass is a boutique psychiatric practice on Mt. Pleasant Road in Newtown, serving families across western Connecticut, including Newtown, Danbury, Bethel, Brookfield, Monroe, Southbury and Ridgefield.
We treat children, tweens, adolescents and adults. Dr. Feingold is board certified in adult, child & adolescent, and forensic psychiatry, and is now seeing patients in person at our Newtown office. Because our physicians are not bound by insurance contracts, the length and frequency of your appointments are guided by what your care actually requires, not by what a plan will authorize.

Who You’ll See in Newtown
Elizabeth Feingold, MD, Co-Founder
A diplomate of the American Board of Psychiatry and Neurology, board certified in Adult, Child & Adolescent, and Forensic Psychiatry. She completed her adult psychiatry residency at Mt. Sinai School of Medicine, where she was chief resident, followed by fellowships in Forensic Psychiatry (Albert Einstein), Child & Adolescent Psychiatry (New York Presbyterian, through the combined Cornell and Columbia program) and Public Psychiatry (NYU). She is licensed in Connecticut, New York and New Jersey.
Dr. Feingold has held leadership and directorship roles in the psychiatric emergency rooms of Metropolitan, Harlem and Bellevue Hospitals, so she is comfortable with acute situations that many outpatient clinicians would shy away from.
Alex Mustachi, PMHNP, Co-Founder
Board-certified psychiatric nurse practitioner and NYU Nursing School graduate. Alex sees patients in person in Connecticut, New York and Westchester, and virtually in all locations. He accepts major medical insurance through the Headway platform.

Insurance and Fees
We offer two paths to care:
- In-network with Alex Mustachi, PMHNP. Major medical insurance accepted through Headway.
- Out-of-network with our physicians. You pay the practice directly, and we provide a superbill you can submit to your insurer for reimbursement under your out-of-network benefits.
All fees are stated up front in your new-patient forms, along with your Good Faith Estimate.
